2024 EVENT

The 2024 DCD Hall of Fame event was held at the Palais Royale Ballroom in Toronto on November 10th. Produced yet again by the amazing Vickie Fagan, the event will feature:

  • Sumptuous food and cocktail reception
  • Fabulous live performances by the current generation of elite dancers​

Johnny Morin

Johnny is a 33 year old indigenous (Nehiyaw) tap dancer hailing from Treaty 6 Edmonton, Alberta. Now residing in Treaty 13 Toronto Ontario he is a force in the tap dance community and known across the country and around the world. A Dora Award Nominee, Johnathan co-produces and co directs Rhythm and Sound Dance Company alongside Cori Giannotta and also runs his own drop in classes in Toronto. His passion for the dance has brought him across the country as well as internationally as a performer and educator. Some of his accolades include TD Toronto Jazz Festival, Sarah Reich’s Tap Music Project, Vancouver International Tap Festival, and the Toronto International Tap Festival.

With his talent, dedication, and impressive list of accomplishments, Johnathan Morin is sure to continue making rhythmic waves in the world of Canadian tap dance for years to come.

Ana Zamora

Originally from Havana, Cuba, Ana Zamora trained at National Ballet School of Cuba, and joined The National Ballet of Canada apprentice program in 2024.

Luiz Anselmo

Born in Rio Piracicaba, Brazil, Luiz Anselmo studied at Escola do Teatro Bolshoi no Brazil. He joined the National Ballet of Canada apprentice program in 2024.

Valeria Galluccio

Valeria Galluccio studied ballet with Annalisa Cernese in Italy. For three years, as part of the Venice Biennale, she danced the works of Ismaël Ivo as main performer before joining, in 2011, COMPAGNIE MARIE CHOUINARD. In 2015, she was named as best Italian dancer abroad by the magazine Danza&Danza. In 2017, she was awarded the Positano Prize for “Dancer of the Year on the International Scene”. In 2019, she received the new Premio Nazionale Sfera Award of Oro per la Danza, as ‘Italian Dance Personality on the International Stage in Ballet and Contemporary Dance’ as part of the Sfera Danza festival.

Adrian W.S. Batt

Adrian W. S. Batt graduated from the École supérieure de ballet du Québec, after starting his career at the Dance East School and completing two internships at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. His work as a performer was rewarded with a scholarship of excellence given by the Jeune scène d’affaires of the École supérieure de ballet du Québec. He joins COMPAGNIE MARIE CHOUINARD in 2019.
